Opening weekend of the 56th Annual Helen Oktoberfest brings electric energy to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Saturday, September 12 is the official kickoff celebration, featuring traditional parades, ceremonial keg tappings, and townwide German festivities that fill the streets of Georgia's Bavarian alpine village.

Morning Strategy & Parking Guide

• 10:00 AM – Early Arrival & Breakfast: Arrive before the crowds to secure parking in city-owned paid lots on Edelweiss Strasse/Chattahoochee Strasse or Narr Weg. Two-hour free city spots are available at Unicoi Hill Park and Riverside Park. Fuel up at Hofer's of Helen Bakery & Cafe with fresh Bavarian pretzels, apfelstrudel, and espresso.
