Embrace the Highlands (Hiawassee)
Head over to the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds right now for the Georgia Mountain Scottish Festival & Highland Games. The gates are officially open! It's the perfect time to walk the lakeside village, explore traditional Scottish clans, watch impressive sheepdog herding demonstrations, and let the kids take part in a fun "passport" scavenger hunt.

Cast a Line for Free (Suches)
It’s National Fishing & Boating Week, meaning today is an official Free Fishing Day in Georgia (no license required for residents!). If you are looking for a relaxed, nature-filled morning, head over to the Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery in Suches for their annual Kids Fishing Rodeo. It's a fantastic, crisp morning outdoors for families.

The Parade of Tartans (Hiawassee)
If you are at the Scottish Festival, make sure you find a good spot by 11:30 AM. The official opening ceremonies feature a spectacular massed pipe and drum band performance and the colorful Parade of Tartans. Afterward, stick around to sample authentic festival food like Scotch eggs and haggis.

Street Party Kickoff (Clayton)
Downtown Clayton officially closes down the streets for the 3rd Annual Ramshackle Street Festival. Starting around midday, you can stroll through more than 70 local craft vendors, check out unique art exhibits, and grab lunch at a local Rabun County food truck or downtown boutique eatery.

Main Stage Grooves (Clayton)
The party really heats up at the Ramshackle Festival in the afternoon. Live music takes over the center stage starting at 1:00 PM with the 441s Band, followed by a rotating lineup of incredible southern rock, folk, and classic country artists all afternoon.

Fine Art & Pottery (Blue Ridge)
If you prefer to beat the afternoon heat with something creative and quiet, head over to the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association. Today features the beautiful Shape of Clay Artisan Pottery Exhibition and showcases abstract paper art from their newest resident artist. It’s the perfect, relaxed afternoon stroll.

Vines and Acoustic Tunes (Ellijay)
For the ultimate chill afternoon, make your way to Grapes & Ladders Winery in Ellijay. You can sit outside, look over the vineyards, and enjoy locally crafted wines while listening to live afternoon acoustic sets from local musicians.

Twilight Balloons (Helen)
If you missed the early morning balloon launches, you are in luck! The legendary Helen to the Atlantic Balloon Race & Festival features a second flight window today. Up to 20 colorful hot air balloons are scheduled to take to the skies around 6:30 PM (weather permitting). Grab an outdoor patio table along the Chattahoochee River at the Helendorf River Inn to watch them drift gracefully over the Alpine Village as the sun sets.

Headliner Block Party (Clayton)
Keep the energy going into the night back in Clayton. The Ramshackle festival builds up to its biggest performances of the day, featuring a high-energy set by Jake McCrackin & Blue Ridge Lonesome at 5:30 PM, leading straight into the stellar headlining performance by Grady Spencer and the Vagabonds at 7:15 PM.

Pub Melodies & Local Eats (Blue Ridge)
If you're looking for a casual neighborhood vibe to end your Saturday, check out the local pubs and grills in Blue Ridge. Venues across town are hosting local acoustic acts, perfect for enjoying a cold craft beer and a plate of slow-smoked mountain BBQ.
